Medical Instrumentation Techniques
Medical instrumentation engineering sits between the hospital and the workshop. Its graduates are the people who install, calibrate, troubleshoot and maintain the equipment that clinical staff depend on — from patient monitors and infusion pumps to imaging and laboratory analysers.
The programme combines electronics, sensors and measurement science with an understanding of human physiology and the safety standards that govern medical devices, so that graduates can work safely in a clinical environment.

A Message from the Head of Department
Medical instrumentation is a discipline where accuracy is not an abstraction. A miscalibrated monitor or an unserviced infusion pump has consequences measured in patient outcomes, and that reality shapes how we teach.
Our programme is built so that graduates leave able to work — familiar with the instruments in Iraqi hospitals, comfortable with the measurement principles behind them, and grounded in the safety standards that govern any equipment used on a patient.
